We accept most traditional insurance plans and are contracted members of many Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans.
In general most insurance plans will pay 100% of your fee for preventive care like examination, x-rays and cleanings and many will pay 100% for sealants on children to prevent decay on permanent back teeth.
Most basic services like fillings, extractions, root canals, periodontal (gum) treatment and so forth are usually covered at 80%.
Many insurance plans cover crowns, bridges, teeth replacement (fixed bridges, removable bridges, and dentures) at 50%. Some plans do cover these "major" procedures at a higher rate.
Some insurance plans are now (finally) beginning to cover implants. Some of these plans cover implants on a totally different category with a "lifetime" benefit maximum of about $5000.00
Most insurance plans will have a deductible, which is the part not paid by them on the first (usually $50.00) on basic and major services. Most plans do not apply the deductible on preventive services.
Most plans will have a maximum benefit per year per person in the family. The maximum annual benefit will range from as low as $500.00 to $2000.00 or more. (For each member or your family!) Once your insurance company has paid out the maximum per year regardless of what else you may need to have done, they will not pay any additional benefits for that insurance year. In addition, what ever benefits you do not use are lost and are not carried over nor added to benefits available for the next year. If you have un-used insurance benefits and untreated dental problems it is best to try in get in before your insurance year expires in order to maximize your benefits and minimize your out of pocket cost.
We accept insurance assignment in most cases. That means we will file your insurance paperwork for you (at no cost) for the portion of the fee we estimate will be paid by your insurance plan. (based on information either you give or your insurance plan gives to us). We will expect payment for the portion estimated as not paid by the insurance company as we perform dental treatments. We give the insurance company up to 60 days (two month) to pay on each claim. If the insurance pays less than expected you are responsible for all fees not paid by your insurance plan or if the insurance company fails to pay in a reasonable 60 days from date of service you are then responsible for the balance due on those services. On the other hand, if your insurance plan pays more than expected and your FAMILY has a credit balance with no pending insurance claims remaining...a refund check will be promptly sent to you.
For those who need it: We offer financing through CareCredit (carecredit.com). CareCredit is available with approved credit. This plan can give you interest free financing for up to 18 months or financing at 9.9% (annual) for up to 60 months. Many of our patients have found this to be very useful in making dentistry affordable and have used this plan to cover the portion of their fees not covered by their insurance plan (without having to put any of their own money up front for their dental treatments.)
